Turnbull himself is one our wealthiest federal parliamentarians, as you may have guessed if you’ve seen his Point Piper waterfront mansion. He has opted to stay in his own home instead of taking up official residence in Kirribilli House across Sydney Harbour.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the Prime Minister wants to stay close to his grandson. But as Domain.com.au has previously reported – a move to Kirribilli would be a step down the property ladder for Turnbull.
Taking a look at his cabinet, it is good to see our Finance Minister Mathias Cormann also appears to be a savvy investor, with a portfolio of five properties in Western Australia. According to Domain.com.au, he has recently listed one for sale – a three bedroom brick home in Perth’s beachside suburb of Waikiki.
Julie Bishop also owns real estate in Western Australia in the form of a large, waterfront apartment in the exclusive Perth suburb of Crawley. Domain.com.au reports you could become a neighbour for just $4.3 million.
And Domain.com.au has also done its research on a swag of other cabinet members, with Health and Sport Minister Sussan Ley’s residence perhaps among the more humble of locations, in the New South Wales town of Albury where the median house price is $438,000.
