Swimming pools have the topped the list of the most-wanted property feature for 2025, according to realestate.com.au.
Based on search terms, the ideal Aussie home is a single-level residence with a pool, outdoor area, balcony and garage.
Ensuites, built-in robes, dishwashers and air con are also on the list.
REA Group senior economist Eleanor Creagh said the search terms remained largely unchanged compared to 2024.
“Lifestyle remains the primary driver in search behaviour,” Ms Creagh said.
“Swimming pools, garages and air conditioning all top the list of our most searched features nation wide and it really underscores the enduring popularity of lifestyle and liveability for home seekers.”
Interestingly, there has been a shift towards people searching for properties offering dual income potential. This may present an opportunity to cohabitate with family or other tenants to reduce mortgage pressure.
For unit hunters, the top search term was balcony, followed by air con and a garage.
