If you’re looking to sell, one of the first steps you should take is to tidy up the garden. A neat and tidy yard is something all buyers look for and a bit of landscaping will add value to your home.
Chris Freer, owner of landscaping business Mow and Go, on Brisbane’s northside, had some advice for those looking to sell up.
“Open your yard up to as much sunlight as possible,” he said. “Don’t over-plant, keep a bit space between the plant species in your garden.
“A great lawn is a must for me – nice neat edges, green and lush and not cut too short.”
Most people selling their homes would think to de-clutter inside the house, but don’t forget the outside as well.
“If you have a small yard, remove excess outdoor furniture and tidy up the barbecue,” Chris said.
“Details in a garden are important – tall plants should go at the rear of the garden, dead head any flowering plants and remove weeds.
“Top up the garden beds with fresh mulch and keep your walkways nice and clear. And trim any hanging branches or bushes.”
