But Brisbane buyers will find it easier to grab an affordable slice of real estate than southern capital city buyers.
CoreLogic RP Data reports 37.4% of all home sales nationally were at less than $400,000 over the 12 months to June 2015. Focusing just on capital cities, just 25.1% of sales were below $400,000 over the same period.
In Brisbane, however, 30.4% of house sales and 51.7% of unit sales to June 2015 were under $400,000.
First time buyers in Brisbane should spare a thought for their Sydney counterparts where just 7.8% of homes sold for less than $400,000 in the same period.
