The newcomers bring the total number of million-dollar-burbs in Brisbane to 23 – up from 16 just a year ago.
The Grange and Bardon are two perennially popular places that have finally secured their top shelf price tag for the first time on record, reports realestate.com.au.
South of the river, Balmoral took a tumble and dropped out of the list, falling from $1.07 million to $882,500 over the financial year.
Surprisingly for some, Samford Valley on Brisbane’s outer north has cracked the list rising from a median price of $922,500 to $1.1 million over the past year. Renowned for its prestige acreage, it holds growing appeal for tree changers with enquiries reportedly up 40 per cent in recent times.
Holding similar appeal, the leafy, riverside suburb of Fig Tree Pocket is also now rubbing shoulders with the million-dollar-median rich list.
It will probably come as no surprise to learn Clayfield and Ashgrove also made the grade. They’ve been blue chip from way back baby – just ask them. LOL.
And if you want the pricey post code without the premium price tag – you could be in luck.
“It’s still possible to buy into premium suburbs for under $1 million in Brisbane, unlike Sydney or Melbourne where that price tag doesn’t necessarily get you into an expensive suburb,” said realestate.com.au chief economist Nerida Conisbee.
