While trendy Brisbane suburbs including New Farm and Chelmer also made the top #10,
it’s Queensland’s coastal areas that dominate the list.
Rental houses in the beautiful Tallebudgera Valley on the Gold Coast command a median weekly rent of $795. Also on the Gold Coast tenants in Tallebudgera, Currumbin Valley and Clear Island Waters are coughing up more than $700 a week.
On the Sunshine Coast, Mons and Diddillibah command a median $725.
To afford rents in these prestigious suburbs tenants need to be earning well over $120,000 to avoid going into rental stress.
