As Coronation Day on May 6 officially crowned King Charles III, the British Monarch inherited more than just a crown.

A property portfolio worth a whopping $26 billion was also passed down from Queen Elizabeth.

That’s a step up from the $2 billion portfolio he held as the Duke of Cornwall, reports realestate.com.au. Prince William inherited that collection of bricks and mortar when he took the title last year.

For a great glimpse at the lush abodes owned by King Charles and the Royal Family, check out Verandah.com. This collection of homes exceeds anything you might have seen on Luxe Listings or Selling Sunset.

Amongst King Charles’ most prestigious and well known properties are Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Kensington Palace. Avid watchers of The Crown will know the latter as the marital home of Charles and Diana in the 1980s.

It’s now home to Wills and Cate, and realestate.com.au, says the Duchess is reported to have decorated the home with Ikea furniture. It’s hard to picture a palace decorated with Ikea pieces but with cost of living increases these days why not shop smart. We suspect she’d go nuts for our K Mart hacks and Aldi special buys if she makes a royal tour of Australia again.
