Should you buy now or in 2025?

The spring selling season is in full swing and the shops are filling their Christmas aisles already.

For those who want to make a move before the year’s end, the time is now.

But if you’re an investor sitting on the fence and wondering whether to buy now or later, what do the economists think?

Well, on the upside, interest rates have been on hold since November 2023 and most economists agree there won’t be a further rate rise, reports Property Update, though they disagree on how soon rates might fall.

Meanwhile, housing affordability has become a growing concern and properties for sale remain in low supply compared to historic levels.

This has contributed to higher property prices and growing disparity between wage growth and house price increases.

So what does it all mean? Very little to the individual investor, says Property Update.

“Smart property investors buy investment-grade properties in good locations at the time that suits them, instead of waiting for the lowest prices or a downturn,” it reports.
“This means that they can ride out any temporary market fluctuations and see compound growth.”

In other words, do your research, make your own plan and buy when the numbers are right for you.
