Will this Brissie mansion smash our price record?

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 18 May 2016

It was the deep pockets of mining magnate Gina Rinehart that set Brisbane’s reigning record house price when she paid $14 million for a riverfront Hawthorne mansion in 2014.

But it could take even deeper pockets to secure an Ascot mansion tipped to set a new price record.

The hillside property at 10 Morgan Street is being offered for sale for the first time.

Spread across four levels, it features five bedrooms, six bathrooms and all those nice little touches your everyday multimillionaire wants in a home:

  • Infinity lap pool? Check.
  • Sweeping city vistas? Check.
  • A seven-car garage? Check.
  • Five entertaining areas? Check.
  • World-class construction techniques? Of course!

The vendor bought the 912 square metre block of land in 2003 for $1.85 million and engaged architect James Forbes to create the stunning home, according to Domain.

The property is being sold by tender closing 7 June 2016 and has already attracted interest from buyers around the world.

The private vendor reportedly wants to downsize. We think if the proceeds of this sale reach the record heights predicted, they could probably downsize to a small island.
