Brighter Buying

Which north Brisbane burb is tipped to be a 2019 hot spot?

A new rail line, affordability and amenity have placed Kippa-Ring on the suburb shopping list for many Brisbane area buyers in 2018.

Where sales volumes grow prices soon follow and that’s made Kippa-Ring one to watch in 2019 according to Hotspotting.com.au expert Terry Ryder.

Kippa-Ring is amongst the top three suburbs in the greater Brisbane area tipped for price growth in 2019. The other two were perennially popular Graceville and nearby Indooroopilly.

The forecasts come from Ryder’s Price Predictor Index, a list of the top 50 suburbs across Australia he believes are set to shine in 2019.

“The whole premise is there is a time lag from when sales activity rises and prices go up,” Mr Ryder told news.com.au.

“If you are already in an area where sales activity is picking up strongly, well that’s good because you are ahead of the strong price rises.”

He is expecting Brisbane as a whole to have a solid year ahead thanks to an improved state economy and rising infrastructure spending.

“Brisbane has definitely lagged because it hasn’t had the same drivers that Sydney and Melbourne have had. I do expect Brisbane in the coming year to be stronger than it has been,” he said.

“We’re seeing that big infrastructure spend, population growth data is favourable as well, with Queensland now the number one state for net gains for interstate migration — and 90 per cent of that goes to SEQ. Those are all things falling into line for a rise.”
