NRMA Insurance has released its 2016-17 claims data which showed 24 per cent of all storm claims came from south-east Brisbane, including Capalaba, Cleveland and Belmont.
North Brisbane accounted for 17 per cent of all claims, including Chermside, Deagon and Boondall, reports Brisbane Times.
According to NRMA, less than one in five people recognised storms posed the biggest risk to their property, despite nearly half of all home claims over the past financial year relating to storm damage.
