So too is biophilic design – which is a fancy way of saying, bringing the outdoors in. Something we do well here in Queensland thanks to summertime mozzies.
If you’ve got dreams of a new kitchen in the new year, get planning now to give yourself plenty of time to find the best prices and tradies to bring your dream kitchen to life.
Here are a few design tips, courtesy of Granite Solutions.
- Colours in 2025 will be deep and rich, including green, burnt ceramic red, dark coral pink, mustard and copper-coloured metals. And black is still the new black.
- Splashbacks are arty. Coloured tiles in herringbone and fish scale patterns, or marble look, are adding warmth where stainless steel was once the hero.
- Doors are minimalist, either flat panel or ‘Shaker style’ – inspired by an 18th century religious sect. That’s an interesting place to gain inspiration for a kitchen door, we agree. But they look good.
- It’s not just the appearance of the material that matters. Knowing where your kitchen comes from is as important as knowing where your food comes from. Sustainably sourced, long-lasting and high quality fittings reflect a growing awareness that built-to-last reduces waste and that’s a good thing!
