But Chermside West residents put roots down far longer, according to new data.
CoreLogic figures based on 2023 sales show that the median hold period for a home is 8.73 years, reports Domain.
In Chermside West, home owners stay for 14 years – and who could blame them. This leafy suburb is filled with nature reserves, creek-side bike tracks and playgrounds. Add proximity to schools and a revamped shopping and food precinct on Rode Road and you’ve got convenience plus amenity.
Good transport links and nearby employment hubs, like the hospital and health precinct, plus the Chermside CBD, make it a suburb you never need to – or want to – leave.
Of all Brisbane suburbs, Middle Park topped the list for the longest serving home owners with a 19 year median.
