Demand is building for Brisbane homes with new figures showing overseas buyers and expats are flocking to Brisbane more than any other city.

Demand for Brisbane houses showed grew 6.7 per cent in the last year, while unit demand also grew 4.5 per cent, according to the realestate.com.au Property Outlook report.

Perennial north side faves including Wilston, Windsor and Newmarket were amongst the top #10 most in demand suburbs for houses.

While, this side of the river, Paddo, New Farm, Ashgrove and Red Hill were on the top #10 list for units.

“It looks like Brisbane’s really turning around,” REA Group chief economist Nerida Conisbee said.

“If you have a look at the inner city and the east where demand is up more than 10 per cent, it shows there’s lots of people having a look, and when we see that, we generally start to see a pick-up in pricing.

“All the talk has been about the housing boom being over, but if you look at Brisbane, it’s just warming up again.”
