If we were cool enough to care, we’d be outraged.
But we suspect Brisbane and Brisbanites aren’t likely to be too fussed about being overlooked on a list like this.
Being cool is not something we tend to aim for – unless you’re seeking respite from the summer heat at Chermside Westfield.
We’re happy to just be Brissie, however you want to define that.
The Time Out magazine editors rated ‘cool’ world cities based on their food, drink, arts, culture, street life, community and ‘one-of-a-kind local flavour’, reports Domain.
Four burbs across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide made the list from Australia. But not Brissie.
Ah well, never mind. We’re a bit too preoccupied with fish and chips at Sandgate or a crisp brew at Howard Smith Wharves to read Time Out.
Or we’re packing the esky to head to Straddie or Moreton, or even Fraser.
Come Friday we’re definitely too busy downing cold ones on the back deck and drawing up the Bunnings weekend shopping list.
Then of course on Saturday we’re quite sidetracked with our Bunnings sausage and DIY home improvement project.
So, Brissie didn’t make the cool list? Probably no one in Brisbane noticed.
