Furniture retailers, interior designers and of course, Houzz, are all busy making predictions for the year ahead.
Here are some of the standout trends we’ve spotted.
- Biophilic design. Not just a new word for scrabble nerds, being biophilic is all about increasing connection to the natural environment in your home. Kaiko Design is tipping this and related themes of sustainability and green living, as well as comfort and serenity to dominate Aussie interiors in 2024.
- Blue hues. Colours that invoke deep oceans and clear skies are set to calm and sooth us as we splash blue tones on our walls and soft furnishings says Houzz. Use blue as a kitchen accent colour in tiles or a splashback, or layer blue tones in the bedroom for a deep, deep, sleep.
- Curve balls. Curved sofas, table legs and bed heads, ball-shaped décor and furnishings, or oval and round coffee and dining tables are rolling into style in 2024. Ditching the hard edges brings more intimacy, romance and elegance to your home, says Castlery.
