But is the prospect of remote working from an idyllic location enough to lure buyers from window shopping on realestate.com.au to signing a contract? In some cases yes, while others are predicting the amenity of metropolitan life will prove too strong for others.
Meanwhile, window shoppers continue to click up a frenzy with some south east Queensland burbs seeing almost triple the online search activity they recorded in 2019, according to realestate.com.au.
Perhaps not surprisingly many of the most clicked suburbs are in coastal locations including Witta – a tiny town in the Sunshine Coast which saw a 295 per cent increase in online searches.
In Brisbane suburbs offering bigger blocks saw an increase in search activity including Chandler and even Murarrie.
While they didn’t make the list based on the stats, several experts interviewed by realestate.com.au tipped a number of north Brissie burbs with unique lifestyle benefits would also see a spike in buyer interest in 2021. These included:
- Redcliffe
- Sandgate
- Shorncliffe
- Morayfield
- Caboolture
- Samford Valley
- Ascot
