Prices have softened this year and some have dropped out the bottom of that list.
So it might surprise you to learn where you can live like a millionaire without paying seven figures.
A list we spotted in Domain recently, promised just that.
We agree with some of their selection. Buyers may be pleasantly surprised to learn they can snag a house in inner city Spring Hill and Nundah for less than $1 million.
But some of the burbs included aren’t yet etched in the minds of locals as having a million-dollar-image.
Everton Hills and Everton Park are perennially popular for families seeking value and proximity to schools, shops, parks and recreation facilities.
With median price tags under $900,000 we think north Brissie house hunters would be surprised to cough up a million for a house in the hills.
Another suburb that caught our eye was Chermside. Known for being a satellite CBD thanks to the Westfield precinct, houses here represent an interesting mix of city-dweller convenience with suburban-backyard-ambience.
So on that front, we agree with Domain’s assessment. Snagging a Chermside house with a median price tag under $900,000 is a steal!
Check out Domain’s list of suburbs you may – or may not be – surprised to learn, have a median house price of less than $1 million, including their distance from the city.
