Realestate.com.au has scoured the nation and compiled its list of top #5 bargain buys within 10km of each capital city, based on median sold prices for two and three-bedroom houses.
Check out Brisbane’s top #5 most affordable suburbs within 10km of the CBD:
- Rocklea, 3-bed, $367,500
- Salisbury, 2-bed, $418,750
- Northgate, 2-bed, $452,500
- Keperra, 3-bed, $457,500
- Chermside, 2-bed, $473,000
By comparison, the most affordable suburb within 10km from the Sydney CBD is Tempe where the median price for a two-bedroom home is $843,250. Or how would you like airport noise with your two bedrooms in Mascot for $876,000?
In Melbourne you won’t find many homes for under half-a-million dollars within 10km of the city, with West Footscray boasting the most affordable median price of $524,000 for a two-bedroom home.
At the other end of the scale, Tasmania boasts the lowest median house prices where you won’t need to spend more than $200,000 to live within 10km of Hobart.
Back on the mainland, the cheapest suburb within 10km of the CBD is Kilburn, just north of Adelaide, with the median price for a two-bedroom home sitting at $307,500.
