Northsiders rejoice again – some of our suburbs will enjoy a rates drop, including Geebung (0.46%), Boondall (0.16%), Nudgee Beach (0.48%) and Gordon Park (1.03%).
Brisbane City Council finance chairman Julian Simmons told Brisbane Times rates increases were predominantly in low lying riverside suburbs which had seen values climb following the 2011 floods. He said rates were calculated based on an average of property values over three years to minimise sudden changes.
