The realestate.com.au Hot 100 list is a new year must-read for anyone looking to buy or sell this year.
It compiles a list of suburbs set to out-perform the pack. Of course, property crystal balls are notoriously unreliable over the short term, so it pays to understand the growth drivers behind any prediction and do your own research.
A total of 17 Queensland suburbs made the national list, with 10 of those in the greater Brisbane area, taking in Moreton Bay and Ipswich.
“Queensland’s entries are split between inner Brisbane gentrification and the broader southeast Queensland growth story, with relatively affordable housing, strong jobs growth and transport hubs and Olympic-tied infrastructure underpinning demand from owner-occupier buyers and investors,” said REA Group senior economist Eleanor Creagh.
Here on the north side, suburbs which made the cut offered strong appeal to families as well as budget conscious buyers.
Bray Park was a standout offering proximity to a wide range of schools, shops and green spaces, while maintaining relatively affordable prices.
Griffin, a short distance from North Lakes, offered similar appeal to Bray Park as well as a low vacancy rate.
Petrie continues to attract interest thanks to the development of the University of the Sunshine Coast’s campus in Moreton Bay.
Closer in towards the city the perennially popular Wavell Heights secured a place, as did Herston, which is tipped to benefit from significant Olympic infrastructure spending.
