Brighter Buying

Stafford units a beacon of affordability for first home buyers

by Kate Watt, Marketing Manager 30 May 2024

Buying anywhere or anything for under half a million dollars these days can seem an impossibility.

But bargain hunters should not despair.

A recent report on realestate.com.au highlighted 40 Queensland suburbs where median prices were cheap enough to catch first home buyer attention.

Here on the northside Stafford units, with a median price tag of just $475,000, rated a mention.

For this price you can buy a two-bedder, or a swankier one-bedroom. Unit blocks range from older style basic brick, to newer complexes with swimming pools.

All property types in this location benefit from the ever-gentrifying journey Stafford continues to take. Trendy espresso spots, a lively retail and commercial hub along Stafford Road, and proximity to the northside’s very own mini-CBD – that’s right, Chermside – make it an appealing choice.

Add to that convenient transport options and schools and you’ve got a genuine affordable hot spot within 10km of the Brisbane CBD.

First time buyers should also check out bargain buys in suburbs offering older style units or townhouses. Look for good bones plus cosmetic reno potential in suburbs like Everton Park, Arana Hills, Albany Creek and Zillmere.
