But as the morning chill starts to call for a cardigan, now is the time to get planning for the next seasonal overhaul of your home.
Check out this list of must-do autumn maintenance jobs courtesy of Hire a Hubby.
- Clear leaves and debris from your gutters and downpipes. Yep, clear them out ready for the next downpour.
- Replace your leaking taps and shower heads. No one wants to waste water or enjoy a cold shower on a chilly Brissie morning now the mercury has dipped below 30 degrees.
- Seal your windows. You probably should have done this in summer anyway to keep that air con locked in and save on your energy bills. But certainly you’ll want it sealed and cosy before the Ekka westerly winds arrive in August.
- Ditto for doors. Seal ‘em now if you haven’t already.
- Prune those trees and hedges. Now that they’ve stopped visibly growing by the second over summer, you can prune and know it will stay tidy for a few months (hopefully!).
