It seems our love affair with a tree change may be seeing a post-pandemic resurgence.
On the north side, rural residential suburbs like Closeburn near Samford and Kobble Creek near Dayboro ranked in 9th and 10th place on the list of suburbs with the highest number of enquiries per listings.
Chandler on the south side, also renowned for large houses on acreage blocks, took out the top spot.
Unit hunters, on the other hand, appear to be seeking affordability with outer suburbs like Waterford, Springfield and Forest Lake on the top 10.
Across Australia, suburbs in Brisbane and Sydney dominated the list of most in-demand suburbs, reports realestate.com.au. This accounts for the price growth both cities have seen.
If space is what you’re seeking – without the drawbacks of distance or maintenance that can come with acreage living – you can find large, family friendly blocks in suburbs like Aspley, Albany Creek and across the northside middle-ring suburbs.
Unit hunters seeking good value – without moving to Brissie’s outer reaches – will find a range of price points in suburbs like Chermside and Stafford. Older style unit blocks across the northside middle ring can offer great value buying – just add a fresh coat of paint, some new tapware or flooring to personalise and modernise to your taste.
