Can’t see your dream suburb on the list? The trick to getting started in the market is to broaden your horizons and be realistic. You won’t achieve a Teneriffe postcode on a Zillmere budget. But these days lots of middle and outer ring burbs have pockets of inner urban style gentrification. So you can still be just a Saturday-morning-stroll away from good coffee.
“I don’t think anybody in the history of the Australian real estate market has achieved their dream (home) in their dream location on their first purchase,” Ryder says.
“The idea is to get your foot on the ladder and maybe your third or fourth purchase you’d be getting a little bit closer to achieving what might be your dream home.”
