Today houses in this luxe city fringe locale command a median price tag of just over $1 million.
Windsor tops the list of the 16 highest growth suburbs in Brisbane over the past two decades.
Another northside fave to make the cut was Stafford, which has seen 410 per cent growth from a median of $124,000 in the year 2000 to $633,000 today. This rocket-propelled growth comes as no surprise to those who have watched this ugly duckling gentrify into a hipster haven, complete with its own thriving café scene.
More surprisingly perhaps is Deagon. Some may argue it’s yet to fully emerge into a swan. But with a median house price of $480,000 – up from $91,000 two decades ago – it’s a bargain full of amenity with plenty more room for growth.
The neighbouring bayside beauty of Sandgate has shot up 459 per cent to top a median of $782,500, proving punters are happy to pay a premium for pelicans and paradise.
Meanwhile the Grange, Kedron and Nudgee have all earned a place amongst the 400+ per cent growth club.
On the southside, Bulimba and Coorparoo lead the pack, and closer to town, of course New Farm made the grade.
