Picking these hotspots is every property buyers’ dream. Here are four burbs that Property Update believe are worthy of consideration.
- Chermside West. It’s seen 36 per cent growth over the past five years, outperforming the Brisbane average of around 25 per cent. It has almost 80 per cent owner occupiers and gentrification is under way as retirees move out and young professionals move in. The Craigslea State School catchment is a draw card and its two hospitals attract health care professionals.
- Keperra. It’s seen 30 per cent growth over the past five years. About two-thirds of the residents are owner occupiers and in recent years the average income for Keperra dwellers has started to move ahead of the Queensland average. It’s on a train line which is a strong advantage in Brisbane.
- Ashgrove. This blue chip suburb is about 4km from the CBD and is a perennially popular family location thanks to its leafy green outlook, quality schools and lively retail and dining options. It’s seen more than 36 per cent growth over the past five years.
- Cannon Hill. The only south side burb tipped for greatness, Cannon Hill is popular with families thanks to its good schools, green space and good train and bus lines.
