Three out of four Aussies say they trust their neighbours according to a recent survey from Couriers Please.
Baby boomers are the most trusting bunch with 84 per cent saying they trust their neighbours. While just 64 per cent of millennials say they trust the people next door.
What exactly do we trust them with?
- 82 per cent of Aussies would trust their neighbour to collect their mail
- 69 per cent say they would allow couriers to leave a parcel with a neighbor
- 63 per cent would trust their neighbours to water the plants while they were away
- 49 per cent would leave their pet with a neighbor while they went away
- 46 per cent trust their neighbour with the key to their home
- 43 per cent say they would let their neighbour house sit
- 38 per cent trust their neighbour more than they did 10 years ago
While they’re some pretty healthy trust levels, the survey showed we are selective about how far we spread our trust.
When asked how many neighbours they trust, 37 per cent of respondents revealed they only trust one neighbour, while a quarter (26 per cent) trust two to three neighbours around them.
