How would you like to earn $280,000 in a year for sitting around doing nothing?

Houses in New Farm did just that in the past 12 months, meaning they earned triple the average household income for the suburb.

This makes New Farm the hardest working suburb in Brisbane in dollar terms for the past year. Hamilton also pulled in the big bucks with a median house price change of $275,000.

On the south side, Bulimba put in a more than respectable effort earning $242,500 through its median house price increase, according to figures reported on news.com.au.

Even the highest salary earners amongst us would be pretty pleased with this. Unless of course you’re a surgeon in which case your salary of nearly $400,000 eats your house price growth for breakfast.

Also on the north side Newmarket houses earned a tidy $159,000 in the past year and in Moreton Bay council area houses in Kurwongbah shot up $141,500.

Beats working for a living! Check out these #10 hard working suburbs over the past year.
