Using sales volumes, Terry Ryder of Hotspotting.com.au has created a list of ‘rising stars’ where sales are steadily rising and house prices are tipped to follow, reports news.com.au.
The good news for prospective buyers is more than half of the suburbs have a median value under $500,000.
The Moreton Bay region to Brisbane’s north is the top local government area in Queensland, claiming 10 suburbs on the list.
In fact the list contains plenty of affordable, outer ring suburbs where sales activity is high.
Ryder says good infrastructure, shopping centres and amenities, as well as good train links to the city were making outer suburbs attractive.
And if you’re thinking of looking for that perfect property in an outer burb, Ryder’s tip is to be picky when it comes to choosing a specific location.
“The sweet spot is to be about 200 metres from a school, a shopping centre and a train station,” he says.
