Over the past year seven greater Brisbane region suburbs sold more than 400 houses, reports news.com.au.
Three of those suburbs had median house prices of less than $490,000: Caboolture clocked a whopping 492 house sales and Morayfield wasn’t far behind with 452 sales, followed by North Lakes.
It’s a mix of abundant supply and affordability that is driving buyers in huge numbers to the outer suburbs.
New house and land releases as well as affordable established stock are offering buyers plenty of choices, ranging from typical suburban blocks to larger semi-rural properties.
Amenity is an added bonus. Brisbane’s entire northern corridor continues to build upon its established retail and commercial hubs. We reported earlier this year that Petrie was earmarked for a new university and a Town Centre revamp thanks to its state government Priority Development Area status.
The Moreton Bay Regional Council area – spanning from Ferny Hills in the south up through Brendale and Petrie and out past Woodford – is estimated to experience 40 per cent population growth over the next 20 years.
Good rail and road links make an easy commute back into Brissie, the airport and the CBD. So it’s not surprising buyers are voting with their feet and checking out what the north side has to offer.
