It holds the title of Brisbane’s smallest suburb (though it’s clearly punching above its weight) and it is surrounded by blue chip burbs including Windsor, Wilston and the Grange.
If you guessed Gordon Park you guessed right.
Sitting about 5km from the city, this pocket rocket suburb has been on the astute buyers’ radar for some time. But it has recently seen some particularly strong results.
Record-breaking sales have repositioned it as a first alternative to its affluent neighbouring suburbs, reports Domain.
“It’s a suburb where demand is ahead of supply and I think it’s a part of an upper price perception with buyers there,” Domain Group chief economist Andrew Wilson said.
“It’s that price range that’s been the strongest in Brisbane in recent years.”
Gordon Park’s median house price is $785,500, up 33 per cent in five years. The recent sale of 100 Richmond Street set a new record, exceeding $1.305 million for a 607 square metre block.
Gordon Park, take a bow, you are truly holding your own amongst some very impressive neighbours.
