Neighbourhoods that offer proximity to schools, parks, shops and other amenities are emerging as more highly sought after than traditional blue chip suburbs.
The REA Group (that’s realestate.com.au) published the findings in their new Property Demand Index report which reveals the most in-demand suburbs in the country.
The data shows that across Australia, demand for all dwellings is up by 17 per cent in the year to September 2016. Demand varies across capital cities with Sydney and Melbourne still seeing strong demand driven by an under-supply despite buyer concerns about affordability.
The preference for lifestyle factors seems to be playing out in Queensland as well, with popular family suburbs attracting buyer interest.
According to the Property Demand Index, the top #3 most sought-after suburbs in Queensland last month were:
- Holland Park
- Wilston
- Auchenflower
