Sound too good to be true? Well realestate.com.au has crunched the numbers based on median rents and monthly mortgage repayments and they say it’s possible.
However, some caveats apply:
- The rule only holds true for units.
- Most locations are in the outer suburbs – with the exception of inner city units (we kid you not).
- You will need to save up a 20 per cent deposit.
The other point to note is that the analysis doesn’t consider the costs associated with owning a property, such as council rates. On the upside, it also doesn’t consider that you might get some neat capital growth over the long term.
So, if you dream of getting into the property market your dream might be closer than you think in the suburbs below, including a northside first timer favourite: Brendale.
