#30 Most in-demand burbs for first timers

Depending on whether you’re in the market for a house or a unit you could find yourself battling other first timers in some very different suburbs.

For house hunters, perhaps not surprisingly, the outer Brissie suburbs are popular, according to a realestate.com.au analysis of first home buyer email enquiries.

On the north side, the first home buyer search zone takes in North Lakes, Morayfield, Narangba, Caboolture and Kallangur. If you follow that corridor towards the city you’ll continue to find good first time value towards Aspley and even into Stafford.

The data shows that unit hunters can access some blue-chip locations thanks to great value buying in suburbs like Clayfield and Nundah on the north side; and West End and South Brisbane across the river. The city centre itself is also a feature on the list.

With low interest rates and government incentives continuing to provide first timers with a helping hand, it’s not surprising activity remains strong in this segment of the market.

“Experts say COVID-19 has created prime conditions for many young people to get a foot on the property ladder, while Real Estate Institute of Australia figures show first-home buyers make up a greater percentage of property owners than they have since 2009,” reports realestate.com.au.
