But in the greater Brisbane area it’s still possible to find some super bargains. Yes, greater Brisbane means the local government areas surrounding Brisbane city, and you guessed it that means Ipswich, Logan and Moreton Bay.
For CBD lovers the outer suburbs will come with a compromise on your commute. But you can’t argue with their dollar dazzler price tags.
Suburbs like Riverview, Dinmore and Leichhardt in Ipswich have housing available in the mid $200k range.
And don’t assume you’ll be living in a tin shed.
“Many people assume a $300,000 house must be a dump, but that’s just not the case in the southeast corner,” REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella told news.com.au.
“Low price does not mean low quality.”
On the north, you can scrape into Caboolture for under $300k and value hunters with a slightly bigger wallet will still get a lot of home for their money through the north side growth corridor including suburbs like Bracken Ridge or Zillmere, and out to Strathpine and Petrie.
